Fruits not only taste good, but are also pretty to look at. With a little creativity, you can design a decorative fruit plate for a party, special occasion, or just for fun!
Instructions: 1) Decide which fruits you want to use on your fruit plate. Some ideas are sliced bananas, peaches, nectarines, plums, pineapples, blueberries, strawberries, melons, apples, oranges, kiwi, pear, and even papaya. [Just so you know, fruits brown quickly, especially apples, bananas, and pears. To make sure this doesn’t happen, soak these fruits in pineapple juice for 5 – 10 minutes.]
2) Draw a circle that represents a plate. Make a diagram of how you will arrange the fruit on your plate. Try different patterns, designs, or be creative and make a picture like a smiley face.
3) Gather all your fruits you will need for the plate. Wash all of your fruits, and start preparing. You will need your parents help with this. When you have your fruit ready, make your plate.
4) Serve to your guests, and be prepared for the wonderful comments you will receive.
TIP: Make a healthy fruit dip by blending reduced fat cream cheese and fresh strawberries.
